Thousands of years ago, people did not have printed calendars hanging on walls.

Instead, they watched nature.

People noticed:

These helped people understand the passing of time.

Ancient civilisations created some of the first calendars thousands of years ago.

Many early calendars were based on:

Farmers used calendars to know when to plant crops and when to harvest them.
